Irene has taught Mandarin Chinese for over 10 years to native speakers and second language learners, gaining a wealth of experience in both Taiwan and Australia. As a seasoned Chinese instructor, she is passionate about advancing teaching materials, approaches and classroom activities. She also enjoys sharing her superb calligraphy abilities with her students. During her free time, Irene enjoys reading, cooking, exercise, and singing while playing her guitar.

Teaching Experience
Irene was recently a volunteer Chinese assistant teacher at Kedron State High School (KHSH) in Brisbane. Prior to KHSH, Chen taught Mandarin Chinese at Wu-Yue Chinese Private Institution before taking on the roles of Senior Teacher Supervisor and Chinese Tutor at a private Chinese language learning institution in Taiwan. She developed highly effective lesson plans, motivational culture immersion exercises, and interactive classroom activities. In addition, she has taught students from all walks of life, ranging from CEOs to managers of multinational companies to primary/secondary school students.
Chen also took Teaching Chinese as a Second Language graduate school courses at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Sydney.
