Enrolment
Group Classes
- Students enrol in group classes by full terms or modules. Partial enrolment may be permitted based on placement assessments and the Centre’s recommendation.
- MoTai Mandarin places students in classes according to their enrolment form. Students should ensure the form accurately reflects their circumstances. For questions or uncertainties, please contact the office before submitting.
- While MoTai Mandarin will consider post-enrolment change requests, it is under no obligation to accommodate them.
- Students who enrol but are unable to attend remain fully responsible for their tuition.
- Class arrangements will reflect the submitted enrolment form. Final class details will be confirmed via email one week before the term begins. It is the student’s responsibility to check their inbox, including spam/junk folders.
Partial Enrolment
- Textbooks may not be included in partial enrolments.
- Tuition fees are calculated based on the number of sessions attended, multiplied by the published Individual Session Rate (see the Timetable & Fees page).
- Session counts must be confirmed at the time of enrolment, and full payment is required before the first session.
Group Class Attendance and Catch-Up Policy
- Group classes follow a fixed timetable and are not considered private tuition. Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons to avoid falling behind.
- There is no formal catch-up class available; however, MoTai Mandarin may offer swaps if availability permits.
- Students can review progress notes, handouts, and materials via the student portal or book eligible tutoring sessions. Private 1-on-1 lessons are available for catch-up support (additional fees apply).
Private Class
- Private classes are arranged according to the accepted quote. Minimum booking applies as per quote.
- Students should carefully review quotes before accepting and making payment, as post-booking changes may incur additional fees.
- If the ‘Fixed Class Time’ option is selected, lessons cannot be cancelled, rescheduled, or paused. Missed lessons are non-refundable and fully charged.
- If the ‘Flexible Class Time’ option is selected, cancellations/rescheduling must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Requests received later will result in forfeiture.
- Each booking has a defined completion date to support consistent learning. Extensions must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.
- Additional travel fees apply for classes outside the Sydney CBD.
Cancellation and Refunds
After Commencement
- Tuition cannot be cancelled once commenced; refunds will not be issued.
- Exceptions may be made for personal illness or compassionate reasons with supporting documentation.
Before Commencement
- Cancellation requests received in writing before commencement are eligible for a partial refund (80% of paid tuition; 20% cancellation fee applies).
Rescheduling
Group Classes
- Classes are arranged according to the enrolment form and follow a fixed schedule.
- Courses and individual lessons cannot be paused, deferred, or rescheduled.
- Students bear full responsibility for any missed sessions. Exceptions may be considered for illness or compassionate grounds with evidence.
Private Classes
- Fixed Class Time: Lessons follow the schedule confirmed at the time of booking and are not eligible for changes. Missed lessons are charged in full.
- Flexible Class Time: Lessons may be rescheduled with 48 hours’ written notice. Late notice results in automatic forfeiture.
Complimentary Assessment
- Each student is entitled to one complimentary assessment session only.
- Rescheduling is permitted with a minimum of 24 hours’ written notice. Sessions canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be automatically forfeited. A booking fee will be required to arrange any further sessions.
Teacher
- MoTai Mandarin reserves the right to change assigned teachers at any time.
Payment
- Full payment is required upfront before attending any class.
- Group class placement and private class scheduling will not be confirmed until payment is received.
- Students experiencing financial hardship may contact the office for alternative payment arrangements.
- Accepted payment methods include electronic bank transfer and major debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB). with applicable surcharges.
- Card payments are processed via the Commonwealth Bank’s secure payment gateway. MoTai Mandarin does not store card details.
