Curriculum is designed by professional Chinese language teachers who have a degree in *TCSOL and who have extensive teaching experience.
Learning handouts help you understand the pronunciations, grammars and sentence formats by explaining the language points in plain English and clear approach so it enables you to master them quickly and use them correctly.
Teachers at MoTai hold relevant degrees in Chinese language teaching and have gained abundant teaching experience. They are professional, friendly, helpful and patient. They must also have a valid WWCC (Work with Child Check) to delivery children class.
Assessment is conducted at student enrolment if they have prior learning experience so their level can be determined and be recommended with an appropriate course. Assessment is also conducted after each module/level so student’s learning outcome can be evaluated and a recommendation be made for their next enrolment.
*TCSOL stands for Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. The degree of TCSOL is established by Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban) to "cultivate the high-level, applicability and versatile talents who can adapt to the Chinese language international promotion task and are competent to use Chinese language as a second language or for foreign language teaching purpose" (Learn More)
We provide private class within or outside of business hours so people can balance out between work and study. Class rescheduling is available for private student if they need to re schedule their class to a more convenient time of the week to meet their work or life commitments. Private class can be partially customised or fully customised to accommodate student's or organisation's specific learning requirements.
MoTai Mandarin welcome you to come in for a free trial lesson if you want to have a feel about the class or to meet one of our teachers. If you have prior learning experience, we conduct a free assessment to determine you language level so as to recommend a course at the most appropriate level for you.
MoTai encourages and sponsors all eligible MoTai students to take HSK exams. While the test is optional, Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) would be an effective way to measure student's learning outcome out of the course.
MoTai Mandarin delivers centre based class in small group (4-6 people) in MoTai's private classroom, not shared with other schools or companies. Refreshment, fruits and drinks are provided throughout the class.
To help student develop their interest in the language, MoTai offers various types of vouchers or tickets via our partner companies from time to time.
How did MoTai Mandarin begin?
MoTai Mandarin is a private training school founded in 2015 by Isabella Yi. Isabella received her Master Degree of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics majoring in TCSOL (Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) in China and she had taught Mandarin Chinese to speakers of other languages both in China and internationally before moving to Australia.
Because of Isabella’s strong passion for Chinese culture and the years of experience she gained through teaching Mandarin Chinese, she decided to establish a Mandarin school based on her own teaching philosophy. Her aim is to create a school in a modern fashion and in professional manner which includes curriculum design, student service delivery and most importantly the selection of experienced and qualified teachers.
To recognise her husband’s inspiration Isabella called the school MoTai Mandarin (Mo Tai means Mo's wife in Chinese).
